Initial Advice, Information and Training Project (April 2008 – March 2009)

Initial Advice and Information

EREC was funded by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, to deliver a project which provided advice, information, referrals and signposting (but not casework support) to individuals experiencing discrimination or harassment in relation to their age, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief, gender and human rights.

Training for Community Advisors

The project also worked in partnership with Enfield Citizens Advice Bureau to empower and build good relations between diverse communities through training workshops for community advisors on the equalities and human rights legislation (age, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief, gender and human rights). As well as co-ordinating meetings of an ‘Advisors Network’ to share information and good practice.

Human rights are based on core principles like dignity, fairness, equality, respect and autonomy. They are relevant to your day-to-day life and protect your freedom to control your own life. They help you to flourish and fulfill your potential through:
